ABOUT
Welcome to our story. Here you will find out about more than just our history. You can also learn about the way we engage with and contribute to the hockey community. Including the partners who share our desire to change hockey for the better!

"We believe everyone can gain something from participating in physical activity in a team environment and we are extremely proud of the community that Hockey Fever has become." - Lucie Archer

We are very proud to be associated with a variety of organisations that help our commitment to our customers. TK Hockey & The Stick Club provide our equipment, whilst Gloucestershire Hockey Association (GHA) helps support our schools initiative.

Through our initiative with GHA we deliver the all the school and club tournaments across the county, providing pathways through to regional competition and access to competitive hockey for all. We also offer school hockey provision which is subsidised by revenue from our other services.
This means we are able to provide affordable, professional coaching to the grassroots. So every time a player signs up to play in our Leagues, enjoys a day at one of our Camps or books on to Fever Fest they directly help beginners access hockey.

"For a long time the conventional wisdom of hockey was that you must have a 'win at all costs' mentality and be totally committed to participate at any level. However, modern research shows that simply isn't true. When the environment is managed and protected, everyone, from the emerging elite to the Re(Start) heroes, can find their place within sport. I am delighted to say at Flare Sports (And Hockey Fever) all our coaches are dedicated to this principle." - Richie Owen

Hockey Fever launched in April 2016 and its intention was to share all the positives that sport and physical activity can bring to life. RO Coaching began in November 2019 offering hockey coaching services to schools, clubs and individuals. In January 2023, these two separate brands teamed up and Flare Sports was born. Initially simply operating the separate brands as before but under the new company. This continued for two years and after the successful introduction of new hockey initiatives and coaching services, a rebrand was needed to streamline the offerings and prepare for the future. Meaning RO Coaching brand was paused and from January to April 2025 Hockey Fever was given an update; same values and same community, with a new website, new after-school clubs, and new events like Fever Fest!

We are thrilled to invite you to join our wonderful hockey family and look forward to seeing you on a pitch soon.
